Client Closet?

Check out this sneak peak of some of my most popular dresses!

I have over 30 bump friendly dresses in my client closet in sizes XS to XXL. These are available to all of my clients whether you are booking a maternity session or a family session, I'm here to take the stress out of what to wear!

  • What is your photography style?
My editing style is warm and vivid while still being true to life. You can expect a few photos of everyone looking at the camera, but the rest will be more candid style focusing on the interactions within your family.
  • When should I schedule my maternity session?
I recommend scheduling for 30-32 weeks pregnant. This is late enough to have very visible baby bump while you're still feeling comfortable. If you're past that window, never fear. I've photographed a mama at 39 weeks before. We can make it work!
  • What should my newborn wear for their newborn session?
Textures. Whether you go for a swaddle or an outfit. Look for textures such as knits or lace. These will contrast so nicely with that newborn baby skin!
  • When should I schedule my newborn session?
5-10 days after birth is optimal. You can go ahead and schedule your session before you've given birth and we can adjust the date once your little one arrives!
  • When is the best time of day for my session?
I schedule my outdoor sessions at about an hour before Sunset. This ensures we'll have the best light possible for your session. If we're using an indoor location, I try to schedule when the sun is highest in the sky. That way the light coming through the windows is most abundant while also being nice and soft.
  • Will you help me style my family?
I will! I'm happy to send over some outfit inspiration for your family before your session. If you want guidance on outfits you've put together, just send me a photo and I'm happy to point out if anything won't photograph well.
  • Can I bring my pet?
Yes. As long as your animal is not aggressive, they are welcome at your session!
  • What if my kids can't focus for a full hour?
Kids will be kids and that's one of the things we love about them. I schedule my sessions for an hour so we have plenty of time to give them breaks if needed.
  • What if it rains?
I will reschedule for rain. Due to the unpredictability of East Tennessee weather, I generally wait to reschedule until the day of the session.
  • How early should I arrive to my session?
If you're using a dress from my client closet. Plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes early to get changed into your first outfit. Otherwise, plan to arrive about 5-10 minutes early to get parked and be ready to go at the time of your session.
  • What should I expect during my session?
My sessions are very laid back. We have plenty of time to get good photos so you don't need to feel rushed. In my experience, a laid back environment helps you and your kid feel more comfortable which translates to the photos. For maternity sessions, we'll do some photos with just you and some with you and your partner. I'll walk you through posing and give you guys some fun prompts to get natural smiles! For newborn sessions, we'll take it slow. I allocate extra time so you can feed or change your newborn in the middle of the session if you need to. This session will be a lot of snuggles and sweet interactions. For sessions with young kids, I don't try to force things and I work with what kids are giving me. I'll get to know them a little before we start shooting. If they want to run away and take a break during the session, we'll focus on mom and dad. Generally, they'll come running right back and we can get sweet candid family photos. Just relax and be present and playful with your kiddos for best results! Don't stress about looking at the camera the whole time. I'll be sure we have a few where everyone is looking.
  • Do you edit every photo?
Every photo you see in your final gallery will be fully edited in a manner consistent with my portfolio. I only include the best of the best photos from your session in your gallery!
  • How long does it take to get my pictures back?
You'll get your photos 2-3 weeks after the day of your session!
  • Can I buy physical prints?
Yes. I offer a variety of print products such as professional prints, canvases, metal prints, and even professionally designed albums. You'll have the option to schedule a reveal party where you can order these if you would like!
  • When is payment due?
The session fee is due at the time of booking. That way neither of us have to worry about it between booking and your session. If you need to split the payment, you can do 50% at booking to reserve your session and then 50% due 48 hours before your session.
  • I still have questions. Where can I ask?
You can contact me on my website and I'll be happy to answer all your questions before you even book!
  • How do I book a session?
Slide over to the contact page and fill it out! If you don't hear back from me within 24 hours, check your spam folder!
